Krampus's Escape - an indie bullet hell
A loosely myth inspired Christmas themed bullet hell
Start of 2025 marks a breakpoint in my "career" of indie game developement. I've decided to spend an extra while working on my 20s Game Jam project.
And that's how Krampus's Escape was born. A bullet hell where you avoid all things Christmas as a Krampus transformed into a bat from hell.20s
You can watch the trailer here:
And buy it on steam if you like what you're seeing :-)

mateuszbuczek.com - more than a blog
The new, improved approach to a personal page
Newest and likely not final iteration of my personal page. This time focused more on the content and the presentation. Leveraging some of the newly picked up skills, techniques and technologies. Now also including a fiction section, for the stories that I've written and write. Stay a while and read if you may.
Koduje.com - A teaching platform
Spaced reptition based courses for the IT space
There is plenty of resources that teach you how to code. Few that bridge the gap between knowing nothing at all and gaining basic understanding of the concepts both programming and general IT. This was the initial goal of Koduje. Courses focused on the basics of basics. The very first steps in understanding the inner workings of digital world. Currently the platform is in closed Beta, likely to eventually expand past the very basics into more advanced topics.

Paleo Ninja - Top down platformer
My submission to the 20s Game Jam, made with Dragon Ruby
A 20s game jam submission. A simple go down platformer where you play as a ninja trying to avoid obstacles and collect delicious meats in a purely described dystopian setting. Made with Dragon Ruby and love.

Undead Game - Tower defense
A simple tower defense game with DragonRuby
My first "game". Made with DragonRuby, a simple tower defense game. It taught me a lot of about game design, practical applications of arithmetics and that making a UI work and feel good is anything but a trivial endevour. Plays best if downloaded, the web client isn't that well optimised and neither are my approaches used here.

Buczek.blog - A personal blog
A place to store all my musings and practice rails and turbo
My personal website/blog. Started as a weekend project, with initial aim of being a summary of my year of coding and has since been somewhat improved. Like with other projects it's been a testing ground for new technologies and solutions Mainly focused originally on working with active storage in production, authorization using devise and working better with turbo. Now remade multiple times and replaced by the mateuszbuczek.com with the screenshots showing the previous iterations.

UGMSSK v2 - Multiplayer online strategy game
Ultimate Giga Master Super Summoner King Online
Playable online strategy game
A now deprecated web version of an earlier console based project. A fully playable 2-4 player strategy game where you summon your minions to achieve board domination. A passion project that is likely to be revisited, or at least eventually re-hosted in the future. It was a fun lesson in working with websockets, hacking turbo updates to work with itself and the joys of debugging in a multiplayer environment.

Mindful Timers - timers for work hygiene
Mindful-timers.com simple timers for improved mindfulness and work hygiene
A fun little side quest that taught me a lot about how JS code is executed client side that that pausin and unpausing timers isn't quite that simple if you want to make it scalable and interactive. Fun little experience.

UGMSSK - Terminal strategy game
Ultimate Giga Master Super Summoner King Playable (system) console strategy game
A terminal playable turn based strategy game loosely based on GGG's atrocious treatment of classic summoners. Desparate times required desperate measures. It was either learn to code and make your own or Diablo immortal or quit altogether. On a relatively more serious note. This started as a fun little expansion on my initial idea of writing console chess, ended up as a fully playabe game that drove my latter foray back into rails to bring it to life.
